More about
The Support Group
The Wellness Journey Support Group is a free and comprehensive trauma recovery support group for any Copper Country residents that have experienced trauma or secondary trauma to build a support network of like-minded and safe individuals. Participants do not have to be established clients with Copper Shores.
Trauma
An event or experience that causes long-lasting negative physical, emotional and/or psychological effects.
Secondary Trauma
Psychological and/or emotional challenges experienced by someone who has witnessed another individual's trauma.
What to Expect
The support group meets every other week over the course of five months to cover the contents of "The Wellness Compass: Workbook for Adults," by Holly Hughes Stoner, LMFT, and D. Scott Stoner, LMFT. All workbook materials are provided free of charge.
In between workbook sessions, Copper Shores hosts Wellness Nights, community-driven events designed to teach valuable skills and practices that contribute to overall wellness.
The Wellness Compass: Workbook for Adults
The Wellness Compass Workbook for Adults is a self-guided resource that offers a step-by-step guide for adults who are looking for support and guidance as they seek greater wellness and balance in eight areas of well-being, including care for the body, spirituality, relationships, stress resilience, organization, rest and play, work/school and handling emotions.
Wellness Nights
Wellness Nights are led by local health experts on topics including somatic meditation, sound baths, trauma-informed yoga, nutrition, art therapy, biofield tuning, tapping and more. These hands-on activities are designed to provide tangible takeaways and easy-to-integrate tools, empowering individuals to apply what they've learned in their own time and space.
