Time with a coach differs for each person, depending on their unique needs and circumstances. Peer recovery coaching is led by the person in recovery, not the coach.

Peer Recovery Coach
Someone with tools, skills, and lived experience in addiction and recovery, who is there to assist the person in recovery achieve whatever steps they personally deem suitable in their path toward recovery.
Peer recovery coaches provide tools that are unique to the individual's needs, such as substance abuse counseling, support groups and more.
What they do
- Provide judgement-free emotional support
- Help create Recovery Plans and Relapse Prevention Plans
- Remove barriers to services and help access basic necessities
- Find housing options and reliable transportation
- Assist in filling out forms
- Help find community resources and connect people to recovery support
- Explain the recovery path to a partner or spouse
- Advocate for people in appointment

Establish recovery goals
Discuss what success means for the person in recovery.
Set goals that align with the path they wish to take.
Define the steps they need to take to walk that path.

Follow up meetings
Visits with Kassy vary based on the individual and the goals that they have set.
The frequency, duration and purpose of visits are flexible, able to adjust with the changing needs of the person in recovery.

Relapsing in recovery
Relapsing does not disqualify you from receiving Copper Shores' peer recovery services. It's about progress, not perfection. Copper Shores knows that recovery is a challenging journey, influenced by many outside factors. Peer Recovery Coaches provide nonjudgmental support, focusing on your resilience and commitment to continuing your recovery journey.
