Copper Shores Community Health Foundation has opened the 2025 Volunteer Emergency Services request for proposal. Copper Shores has allocated $50,000 for this grant opportunity, with a maximum award of $5,000 for successful proposals. Applicants must be able to match the requested funding. The foundation strives to enhance well-being in the Copper Country, in-part by supporting local organizations that carry out critical emergency services for residents and visitors. The Volunteer Emergency Services grant supports nonprofit first responders within Copper Shores’ four-county service area - Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw and Ontonagon counties. In previous years, this funding has helped volunteer organizations keep up with the latest training and maintain rescue gear and emergency equipment.
