Copper Shores Community Health Foundation is partnering with Ontonagon Area School District and the Ontonagon Village Fire Department to fund the mobile food pantries.

Attendees will only need to provide basic contact information and affirm a need for food; identification or proof of income are not not required. Boxes of food will be provided in a drive-through format, serving approximately 300 families.

The first mobile food pantry will be in Ontonagon next week, on Wednesday, April 2, followed by June 4, August 6, and October 1. The mobile food pantries will be held at the Ontonagon Village Fire Hall at 315 River St, Ontonagon. Distribution begins at 11:30 a.m. and runs as long as supplies last.

Feeding America West Michigan is a food bank that serves 40 of Michigan’s 83 counties. Its service area spans from the Indiana border north through the western half of the state and extends throughout the entire Upper Peninsula. This is the sixth year Copper Shores has funded mobile food pantries from Feeding America West Michigan, bringing nutritional goods all the way from downstate.
