Meals on Wheels chosen as Bring-A-Bag beneficiary
Copper Shores Meals on Wheels has been selected as Keweenaw Co-op’s first 2025 recipient of the Bring-a-Bag program. Every time a customer brings their own reusable bags to the Co-op, the Co-op will contribute to a truly wonderful cause. For every bag saved, Meals on Wheels will receive funds, January through June 2025.
"Meals on Wheels was chosen by our owners because of its dedication to providing nutritious meals and support to those in need,” said Ariele Pizzo, Keweenaw Co-op marketing & outreach coordinator. “This program aligns with our values of fostering a healthier, more connected community. We’re thrilled to have Meals on Wheels as our Bring-a-Bag recipient for the first half of 2025, not only to help raise funds for this incredible organization but also to bring awareness to the impactful work they’re doing in our community."
During their 2024 Annual Meeting in April, Keweenaw Co-op owners voted unanimously to choose Meals on Wheels as one of the recipients of their Bring-a-Bag program. They also have a Round Up program that regularly supports Copper Country nonprofits.
Meals on Wheels is excited to work with the Keweenaw Co-op, and honored to have been recognized by owners. This partnership further strengthens the bonds between Meals on Wheels and local businesses, a key component in increasing food access for seniors.
Shoppers are encouraged to visit the Keweenaw Co-op at its brand new location in downtown Hancock with a reusable bag in hand. There, customers can find most anything while grocery shopping, and support a great cause while doing it. To learn more about the Bring-A-Bag program and Keweenaw Co-op, visit keweenaw.coop.
