Copper Shores Community Health Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the #GiveCopperCountry Amplification Fund. This is a fresh take on the GivingTuesday campaign that has put more than $3.6 million into nonprofit organizations serving Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon counties since starting in 2017.
“We’ve heard feedback from donors and nonprofits that the language around the word ‘match’ can be confusing or seem misleading,” said Michael H. Babcock, director of communications and donor relations at Copper Shores. “This should help people understand the logistics of how their donation will be amplified, and hopefully inspire the community to help us increase the amount available in the amplification fund.”
Donations are expected to open for the 2024 #GiveCopperCountry campaign on Tuesday, November 12 and will continue right through 11:59 p.m. on GivingTuesday itself - Tuesday, December 3, 2024. One hundred percent of donor contributions made during the campaign will go to the nonprofits.
The #GiveCopperCountry Amplification Fund is a dedicated pool of money, starting at $200,000, that will amplify all donations made to participating nonprofits. For example, if total donations reach $500,000 and a nonprofit raises $50,000, or 10% of total donations, that organization would receive 10% of the Amplification Fund, maximizing the donor’s impact.
To take advantage of the amplification fund, donations must be made through Copper Shores’ GivingTuesday campaign between November 12 and December 3, 2024. Every donor’s contribution made during this period will be amplified by the fund. Donations will be accepted online at coppershores.org/givingtuesday or in person at Copper Shores Community Health Foundation’s Mission Support office at 400 Quincy Street in downtown Hancock.
