Highlights from the February 2024 menu

The season of love is here, and so is the February 2025 Meals on Wheels menu! The kitchen team has been working hard to prepare for February, bringing a variety of new flavors and old favorites to seniors.

Winter is in full swing, with short days and chilly nights, but Meals on Wheels continues to deliver homemade, fresh meals daily – warming hearts and brightening the days of seniors across the community. 

Local farmers and businesses have also been spreading the love this Valentine’s season by continuing their support of Meals on Wheels and its mission. Many local partners are featured in February’s menu, helping diversify the menu while keeping ingredient prices more affordable for the program.

February meals that the team loves:

• Friday, February 7: Ancient grains, vegetables, a brownie and fresh local fish from Peterson’s Fish Market
• Friday, February 14: Lasagna, garlic bread and blueberry crumble with blueberries from Pancho’s Wild Blueberries
• Tuesday, February 18: Wild rice, vegetables, fresh fruit and chicken and broccoli casserole with broccoli from Boersma Family Roots
• Thursday, February 27: Roast beef dinner, vegetables and baked potatoes from Johnson Potato Farms

Valentine’s Day Fundraise

Consider supporting Meals on Wheels this Valentine’s Day by purchasing a homemade confections box filled with chocolate, baked goods, and chocolate covered strawberries. Gift the goodies to someone special or enjoy them with the entire family.

Boxes are $25 each, and can be picked up on Friday, February 14 between 12:30 and 5 p.m. Orders close on Monday, February 10 at noon. Order online or by calling the Meals on Wheels office at 1 (906) 483-1155.
