GivingTuesday applications now open for 2024

Applications have officially opened for #GiveCopperCountry, Copper Shores Community Health Foundation's annual GivingTuesday campaign. Nonprofit organizations who are interested in partaking in the eighth annual GivingTuesday are encouraged to apply.

GivingTuesday happens on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, December 3 this year, as a way for the community to give back to the nonprofit organizations that make Houghton, Keweenaw, Baraga and Ontonagon counties more healthful. More than $3 million has been raised for nonprofits through this campaign through the first seven years.

To be eligible, an organization must be a charitable nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) IRS determination, provide their certified financial audit and/or form 990, must be current with their tax status and have their license to solicit (if required), must not be a religious or educational institution, have a mission related to Copper Shores's Strategic Goals and Objectives or raise funds for a specific project that relates to those pillars, and the organization must be domiciled in Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw or Ontonagon counties.

Nonprofits are reminded to submit their license to solicit (if applicable) and their last filed 990 with the IRS while filling out the application. If this filing is not current, Copper Shores will also need proof of granted time extension.
