Pasty Partnership with Krupp’s
We continue making connections with local producers, farmers and restaurants, like Krupp’s Mini Mart in Twin Lakes. Krupp’s makes one of the Upper Peninsula’s most well known and celebrated foods, the pasty, and they donated hundreds to Meals on Wheels for all of the seniors! We’re so lucky to have a partner like them, and hope you take a moment to get to know them with our latest video! Watch the video.
Senior Project Fresh coupon distribution starts June 3
Is there a senior in your life that could benefit from affordable and nutritious food? Senior Project Fresh may be for them! Seniors can pick up coupons, redeemable at local farmers markets, for more than 75 fruits and vegetables. See the qualifications and distribution schedule at coppershores.org/news.

Isn’t the growing season sweet? We’re just getting started, and we’re so excited about it! See what we’re serving seniors in June by going to coppershores.org/mealsonwheels.
Brewfest Beneficiaries
The Houghton Rotary Club has chosen Copper Shores Meals on Wheels as a featured beneficiary of the 2024 Keweenaw Brewfest. We’re honored and humbled to have their support this year. The event is on Saturday, July 27 and tickets will be for sale soon. Details can be found at keweenawbrewfest.org.
Sharing the love
We are grateful to receive $2,346.73 in funding from the Subaru Share the Love event in 2023. This type of funding helps our programming root itself as a long term facet of the community. Learn more at coppershores.org/news.
Staff Spotlight - Susan Verville
Seniors never go unnoticed on holidays, thanks to Susan and her handmade cards. We serve nearly 300 seniors a day, and Susan has made Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards for each one of them. Susan's organization skills, kindness and willingness to try new tasks make for a perfect combination. Susan helps with administrative tasks, but you can also find her in the kitchen helping prepare meals and cleaning. We enjoy Susan's sense of humor and are happy to have her working with us in serving the seniors of our community. Susan is working at Copper Shores Meals on Wheels as part of the Senior Community Service Employment Program through the AARP Foundation. This program helps people over age 55 learn new work skills and we are happy to have Susan as part of the Meals on Wheels team.
