Copper Shores Receives Property from UPHS - Portage
We're excited to announce a recent land acquisition that will help further our mission to positively influence a more healthful community through enhanced philanthropy and collaboration. On April 19 ownership of 821 Water Street in Hancock was transferred to Copper Shores from our longtime community partner UP Health System – Portage! Bridges Expands to Baraga County
We are so excited to announce the expansion of our Bridges program to Baraga County! Beginning in August, Bridges will offer its introductory class, Getting Ahead, on Wednesday evenings. Applications are due Friday, July 19. Learn more about applying on our website.
Congratulations Getting Ahead Graduates
Last month we celebrated our third cohort of Getting Ahead graduates with a wonderful graduation ceremony! A big thanks to everyone who made this possible, and most importantly congratulations to the incredible individuals who committed to bettering themselves for 16 weeks!
Sexual Assault Hotline Now Live
Our 24/7 Sexual Assault Hotline for residents of the Copper Country is now live. Victims of sexual assault living in Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw and Ontonagon counties can call the hotline at any time for a variety of help. To access the line call 1 (906) 482-5797. 18 Students Awarded Scholarships
Big congratulations to the 18 exceptional recipients of the Copper Shores scholarships! This school year, we also released a brand-new scholarship worth up to $20,000. Learn more at coppershores.org/scholarships.
Wanted: Healthcare Leaders for $5,000 Scholarship
Applications for the 2024 James Bogan Health Administration Scholarship are now open! The scholarship is for $5,000 for a student in a master's level program that will help advance their career in healthcare administration. Applications are due July 12. Find the application on our scholarship page!
Subaru Awards Meals on Wheels More Than $2,300
Copper Shores Meals on Wheels is grateful to receive $2,346.73 in funding from the Subaru Share the Love event in 2023. This is the second year that the foundation has participated in Share the Love. Learn more.

Tuesday, July 23 - Wednesday, July 24 - In partnership with the West End Health Foundation, Copper Shores Outreach & Education is hosting Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) on July 23 & 24, at Great Lakes Recovery Centers in Negaunee.
