In March we’re joining Meals on Wheels programs across the country to celebrate the addition of the senior nutrition program to the Older Americans Act. We're hosting an open house at our office next week, have special events in Chassell, Hancock and Calumet planned and will have a naming contest during the month. Equipment upgrades
We’re 9 months into the $1.28 million in funding we received to improve local food options at Copper Shores Meals on Wheels and our most recent purchase included $44,000 in equipment upgrades! These upgrades mean that we can slice and dice even faster, saving hours of prep time. What’s even better, we have more time to make things from scratch, and the ability to process and freeze food to ensure that seniors receive delicious and nutrient rich food all year long.

Semiannual in-home assessments are coming up again for many of our seniors. We do this to get to know each person we serve on an individual level and their unique needs. We will be in touch with seniors between February and April. To learn more about assessments, visit here.
