Doug has been on the CopperDog Board of Directors since the start of the race in 2009. Doug has also been the Race Director along with wearing many other hats. Doug gives selflessly to CopperDog in hopes that the organization can continue to benefit the community and help grow the economy. He volunteers hundreds of hours each race season, is the voice and face of CopperDog, and is selfless with his time. Doug makes the time necessary to guide and teach so that CopperDog continues to grow as an organization and a world-class event. He goes out of his way to connect on a personal level with volunteers, sponsors and mushers. He is a natural leader, and it reflects on the entire CopperDog team.
