Cukie has been the lifeblood of the Calumet Wolverines for more decades than any of the current players on the team have even been alive. He's been through the very highest highs and lowest lows of an organization that is completely dependent on community support from volunteers, sponsors and fans. He's made it work when many would have quit and the cultural significance of the organization is just as important now as it was 100 years ago, in part because of the hard work he has put in. You'll see him at the Colosseum four or five times a week, almost always with a smile on his face, doing what needs to be done to keep the franchise alive.
