Copper Shores Acquires Meals on Wheels Building 

On April 19, ownership of 821 Water Street in Hancock was transferred to Copper Shores from our longtime community partner UP Health System – Portage. This building has long been the home of the Meals on Wheels kitchen, and now the building and neighboring undeveloped property has a bright future for additional Copper Shores offices and programming. Due to an unprecedented increase in demand, we currently have a long waiting list for program participants. Please be patient as we continue to add people to our program.

Suggested Donation

All program participants received a letter about our suggested donation increase. Please remember that your donation is completely optional. You can donate whatever amount you're comfortable with. We will never turn anyone away based on their ability to pay.

Community-Wide Picnic Set for July 28

We will be on hand for the third annual Copper Shores Community-Wide Picnic on Sunday, July 28! This year’s event is in Ahmeek and will feature free lunch, kids games and activities including bouncy houses, a nonprofit vendor expo and more! Be sure to add it to your calendar! Brewfest Beneficiaries

The Houghton Rotary Club has chosen Copper Shores Meals on Wheels as a featured beneficiary of the 2024 Keweenaw Brewfest. We’re honored and humbled to have their support this year. The event is on Saturday, July 27 and tickets will be for sale soon. Details can be found at keweenawbrewfest.org.

Closed on Fourth of July

Holiday meals will be delivered on Wednesday. Weekend meals to be delivered on Tuesday. Meals on Wheels will be open on Wednesday and Friday of next week.
